Show home design and installation for a 5-bedroom eco-house in Garston, Watford, Hertfordshire

Our client, a passionate environmental campaigner, built a development of 6 carbon neutral eco- homes in Garston, near Watford, Hertfordshire.  Having worked with us on earlier projects, he knew that we could design and deliver a show home interior in keeping with his vision.

The show home, a 3-storey, 5-bedroom town house, had been designed with modern family living in mind, using sustainable materials and Passivhaus principles, one of the first developments of its kind in North Watford.   It was important that we produced a show home which resonated with buyers who were pursuing a greener and more sustainable lifestyle.

Our approach to designing this show home

  • Neutral palettes, natural material and lots of greenery – to incorporate biophilic elements – were used throughout the show home.

  • Soft faux-leather seating and textured rugs were used to create warmth on the polished concrete floors, with black accents tying in the industrial feel of the kitchen cabinets.

  • As with many show home projects, the work was carried out on an active building site, and therefore risk assessments, access planning and health and safety considerations were vital to ensure the smooth running of the installation.

The result: immediate offers on the open day

  • After the show home was installed, an open day was arranged, which resulted in immediate offers being accepted on 50% of the development.
