Working with The Property Presenters, a blog by team member Lisa
I started working for The Property Presenters around a year ago and what a year it has been…
The first job I ever worked on, I remember feeling like a deer in headlights, there was so much going on around me and I just didn’t know where to place myself or quite what to do. But I can honestly say after that day, I knew I was lucky to have been given the opportunity to work with such a fantastic team.
So many times I have told people what I do and I get the same response, “wow, that must be amazing, I’d love to do that” and while I know I am lucky to do what I do, I have also learnt that there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and it is not always as easy or straightforward as just turning up and making a property look beautiful. You have to be able to think on your feet when problems arise and be almost obsessive when it comes to organisation.
There are hours and hours of meticulous planning that goes into staging a home. From the first site visit, to sourcing furniture, to organising the day of staging, to making sure that you’re getting the best out of the space and transforming a property into a home that people would love to live in.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to imagine a property as a home when going to a viewing that's only 15 - 30 minutes long and it's sometimes just an empty shell, and that’s where I have found home staging to be extremely beneficial. Amanda and Leigh make it easier for buyers to visualise properties as homes and set them apart from others. Drawing on my experience working in different estate agents' offices over the years, I can honestly say that it’s worth it!
Leigh and Amanda each have their own taste and style that really compliment each other and their use of artwork and colour schemes really bring a room to life, all whilst making it look oh so natural. They always find a way to make a house flow, placing furniture exactly where it needs to be to make that property look homely.
Arriving at a property on the day of staging is always exciting, you never know what to expect, whether it will go perfectly or have some bumps in the road and every bump is another lesson on how to handle that particular situation. The best way to start the day is with a good cup of coffee and a solid breakfast with the team as we plan the day ahead and get geared up to get stuck in.
That’s when the fun begins, unpacking, building, placing furniture and accessories where they need to be and seeing the creative process unfold around you. It’s no longer a powerpoint presentation, all the hard work is underway and Leigh and Amanda's designs never disappoint.
At the end of a staging day when you are, quite frankly, exhausted, it is so rewarding to look at the ladies you work with and be able to say “we’ve done it!” knowing that you have done the best for that client, for that property and come together as a team to create something beautiful.
Lastly, I am so grateful to work for two such hard working women who have never given up and have built a successful business from the ground up. They are a true inspiration and I'm excited for the adventures ahead.
